Three MBA students place well in global invitational

A team of three University MBA students performed well in the Best-Strategy Invitational, a Best Strategy Game Online global competition that tested their business acumen against students at other universities. The group managed a mock tennis shoe company. Business decisions included borrowing money and buying and selling stocks.

Dr. Richard Becherer, Clarence E. Harris Chair of Excellence in Business and Entrepreneurship, commended the students for their efforts.

“You competed with the best under chaotic market conditions and ended up a small fraction behind first place. You represented all of us very well, “ Becherer said.

The UTC team of Jeff Allara, Sharon Harris and Clark Luckmann qualifed for the world championships by finishing in the top 20 among 2,500 teams. Teams from nine countries participated: Australia, Canada, France, Lithuania, Mexico, New Zealand, South Africa, Thailand and the United States. Those participating in the Best-Strategy Invitational represented roughly 3% of the total number of registered teams, making them a truly elite group.
