Ford-Corker debate on campus October 10

The debate between Senate candidates Bob Corker and Harold Ford Jr. will be held tonight on campus at 7 p.m. in the UC Auditorium. Tickets for the event have already been distributed. Those with tickets should arrive and be seated by 6 p.m.

Other opportunities

For those who did not get a ticket to attend the event, there are still several opportunities to get involved.

The big screen TV in the UC game room and sets throughout the University Center will be tuned to the debate.

Also, the UTC Political Science Department will hold a Student Debate Discussion on October 10, 2006 at 6:30 p.m. in Grote Hall - Room 129.

This event will take place while the Ford-Corker Debate is being held also on the campus of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

Along with viewing the debate, students will discuss the issues and conduct straw polls pre- and post-debate. The purposes for the Student Academic Debate Discussion are to engage students in an academic exchange and critical analysis of political ideas and issues at the national level, to identify political issues relevant to college students and to gauge college student’s voting trends
