Chattanooga Tech Council to hear Early Innovation Award winner

James Waller, P.E., the 2006 winner of the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce Spirit of Innovation, Early Innovation Award, will discuss technology used to make rooms or buildings tornado resistant at the next meeting of the Chattanooga Technology Council on Wednesday, July 19, 11:30 a.m. in the UTC University Center Chickamauga Room. Aerodynamics and civil engineering will be addressed in Waller’s presentation. The public is invited; for reservations contact Kelley Evatt at (423)209-6813.

Waller is president of both Remagen Corporation of Monteagle, Tennessee, and the National Storm Shelter Association.

Waller is a graduate of the U. S. Military Academy and holds the Master of Science degree from the University of Miami in Florida. He has received numerous engineering awards, including the U. S. Army Materiel Command Certificate of Achievement for his participation in the air drop design verification tests of the Army's Sheridan tank, and a commendation from the American Institute of Architects for the engineering of Baltimore, Maryland’s Camden Yards, site of the home games of the city’s professional baseball team.

Parking passes for Waller’s speech will be distributed at the entrance to the parking garage on East 5th Street to those with RSVP confirmation.
