Faculty and staff: schedule time for new Mocs Card

Chancellor Roger Brown did it. And all UTC faculty and staff need to do it as well; schedule a time to replace your Mocs Identification Card.

The new design incorporates the University seal and states that it is a state employee official ID card and entitles the holder to benefits of state employment.

“The University is moving away from the security risk of using social security numbers for identification,” said according to Cindee Pulliam, head of UTC Auxiliary Services. “In order to accomplish this, everyone on campus has been assigned new UTCIDs (three letters and three digits), which will be printed on the new identification cards. The new UTCID can be used to log in to OneNet and will allow access at locations that accept ‘swipes’ for payment, to buildings, the Lupton Library, athletics events, and much more.”

Faculty and staff on campus for the summer are encouraged to beat the fall rush and visit the Mocs Card Office at 141 University Center.

The cards were recently redesigned by the Office of University Relations.

“New cards must be made for each faculty and staff member by the end of December, 2005. Old Mocs cards will be obsolete at that time,” Pulliam said.
