Bibliodrama Scheduled at UTC

Bibliodrama, a form of role-playing, interpretive play and Midrash, a collection of rabbinical commentaries on the Bible, is coming to UTC. Dr. Peter Pitzele will hold two sessions.

The first will be a free session on Sunday, November 12 , from 7 p.m.-9 p.m. introducing and demonstrating reliving sacred stories through Bibliodrama. The second session, a workshop in Bibliodrama, will be held Monday, November 13 from 9 a.m.-noon. This session costs $10 with pre-registration and $15 at the door.

Pitzele is an adjunct faculty member at Union Theological and Jewish Theological Seminaries in New York City. A co-founder of the Institute for Contemporary Midrash, he writes, teaches, conducts Bibliodrama workshops and practices institutional psychotherapy.

He has received a B.A. in history and literature from Harvard University, an M.A. in English Literature from Oxford University and a Ph.D. in English and American Literature from Harvard University.

Both sessions will be in the Raccoon Mountain Room at the UTC University Center.
