Gore Nips Bush in UTC Campus Election

Al Gore narrowly edged George W. Bush in a mock election on campus last week.

According to a story published in the University Echo, Gore/Lieberman garnered 48 percent of the 284 students' votes while Bush/Cheney received 42 percent.

Libertarian Harry Browne received one percent of the vote through write-in votes. Ralph Nader took eight percent of the students' vote.

Over 300 students were recognized for their outstanding scholastic achievement this week, as they were inducted into the Golden Key National Honor Society in Patten Chapel.

The honorary members recognized from the UTC community are Alice Tym, Dr. James Russell, Margaret Daniel and Pete Cooper of the UC Foundation.
