Incumbents in this classification are responsible for providing technical support and analysis of traffic control issues. Our WestRock facility, based in Chattanooga, TN has an opening for a fall Safety and Environmental intern beginning in middle August.  The internship is ideal for a Junior or Senior level Environmental Engineering, Engineering Technology Management, or Environmental Science major.  The intern will be immersed in safety and environmental compliance, regulatory permitting, auditing, managing on-site capital projects, and leading employee engagement activities.  This is a very hands-on internship in a manufacturing environment and reports directly to the SHE Manager.  The intern may be enrolled full-time while interning in this position.  WestRock supports college students, interns, co-ops, and graduates through its Early Career Development program.  More information can be found at

TVA - Safety and Aviation Services Intern

Currently we are looking for a Junior, Senior or Graduate Student, preferably with Computer Science, MIS, or other IT related discipline or working toward an MBA with a technical B.S.  We have an immediate opening with the internship available through candidates graduation as long as all GPA requirement remain acceptable and quality work is produced. 

Position Description:
This role requires excellent attention to detail, a focus on delivering quality work, and the creativity required to think outside of the box to solve problems. The work environment is dynamic and requires an energetic self-starter and team player.  Proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and mobile applications required.  Excellent written and verbal communication, professional writing, and presentation skills.  Additional experience in Tableau and Microsoft SharePoint preferred.  Ability to accurately evaluate numbers and statistical information, troubleshoot issues, and communicate timely resolution to team is a must.  Experience with Project Coordination and familiarity with Agile software development process is a plus.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Attend school full-time as defined by the attending college
  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Have at least a 2.75 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale; Preferably over 3.25

CECS Student Research Assistant

The Unmanned Systems Laboratory in the College of Engineering and Computer Science at UTC is searching for both undergraduate and graduate students to perform research. The students selected are expected to work with faculty and other students on a number of robotics projects. In particular, we are looking for students who will contribute toward our research efforts in developing (1) cooperative control and coordination technologies for multiple robotic systems and (2) cooperative sensing capabilities of mobile sensors.
