The Chem-E-Car Competition is an annual college competition for students majoring in Chemical Engineering. According to the competition's official rules, students must design small-scale automobiles that operate by chemical means, along with a poster describing their research.
The Chem-E-Car Competition, which involves multiple regional competitions and a final competition at the Annual Student conference, increases awareness of the chemical engineering discipline among the public, industry leaders, educators, and other students.

The mission of UTC Solar Decathlon is to provide opportunities for students to learn fundamental building science knowledge, gain hands-on experiences, and unique training on energy-efficient building sectors, which help students be future workforces for clean energy building industry. The vision is to build affordable and energy-zero houses in the upcoming years by participating students, external mentors and external sponsors making a positive community impact in Chattanooga area.
