Dr. Abdollah (Abi) Arabshahi is a Research Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department / SimCenter at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC). He received a B.S. (1982) in Civil Engineering and a M.S. (1985) and a Ph.D. (1989) in Aerospace Engineering from the Mississippi State University. His research interest includes computational fluid dynamics, unsteady viscous flow applications, structured and unstructured grid technologies, autonomous underwater vehicles, internal and external aerodynamics and hydrodynamics and computational bio-fluid dynamics. He has authored papers on these areas in refereed journals, conferences and symposiums. He actively involves students into his research. He has supervised and mentored 74 undergraduate students involved in their undergraduate research associated with the UT SimCenter. This included both the monitoring of the students' progress as well as instruction regarding the use and implementation of the UT SimCenter research software.
