Dr. Seong Dae Kim is an Associate Professor in the Engineering Management & Technology Department at
the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC). He received Ph.D. in Industrial
Engineering from Texas A&M University in 2009. Before joining UTC, he worked at the
University of Alaska Anchorage as Associate Professor and Program Chair of Engineering
& Science Management. His research interest includes decision & risk analysis applied
to natural disasters, weather forecast, sports betting market, and renewable energy
technologies; project risk management; TRIZ application for system improvement and
technology forecast; sports analytics. He is certified Project Management Professional
(PMP), Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, and Associate Certified Analytics Professional (aCAP).
Also, he is an active member of INFORMS (Institute for Operations Research and Management
Science), PMI (Project Management Institute), and ASEM (American Society for Engineering
Decision & Risk Analysis, Project Management, TRIZ, Sports Analytics
