Dr. Neslihan Alp is the Associate Dean of the College of Engineering and Computer Science (CECS) at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) and Professor and Department Head of the Engineering Management & Technology Department in the CECS. She is also holding the Chattanooga Manufacturers Association (CMA) Chair position in the College. She has a Ph.D. in Engineering Management from the University of Missouri-Rolla (Missouri University of Science &; Technology) (1996), a master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, and a bachelor’s degree in Engineering Management from Istanbul Technical University, Turkey. Her teaching and research interests and expertise are in the areas of project management, quality control, facilities management, optimization, lean systems, manufacturing processes, and distance education. She is an active member of the American Society for Engineering Management (ASEM), American Society of Engineering Education (ASEE), Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineering (IISE), American Society of Quality (ASQ), Project Management Institute (PMI), and Society of Women Engineers (SWE). She is currently serving as the SWE Student Chapter’s Faculty Advisor in the College. Dr. Alp strongly advocates for female and other minority students in the STEM field. She is serving on review boards, panels, and technical committees of international conferences, professional organizations, and grant committees. She has more than 150 conference papers, journal articles, and book chapters. She is a Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the state of Tennessee. Dr. Alp is also an ABET Program Evaluator for Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management.
