Dr. Joe Dumas is a UC Foundation Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC), where he serves as coordinator of Computer Engineering and coordinator of the M.S. Computer Science program. His areas of interest include computer architecture, embedded systems, virtual reality, real-time human-in-the-loop simulation, and computer science pedagogy. His most recent publications include Computer Architecture: Fundamentals and Principles of Computer Design (second edition), published by CRC Press Taylor & Francis Group, and "Online vs. Face-To-Face Student Performance in an Introduction to Operating Systems Course," published in the Journal of Computing Sciences in Colleges, Vol. 32, No. 2.
