Dr. Soubantika Palchoudhury is an Assistant Professor in the Civil and Chemical Engineering Department at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC).  She received her PhD (2012) in Chemical Engineering at The University of Alabama. Prior to joining UTC, she was Postdoctoral Researcher for Yale University, University of South Carolina and the University of Alabama.  Dr. Palchoudhury's areas of interest include nanochemistry, environmental nanoscience, nanoparticle-DNA interactions and material characterization, especially transmission and scanning electron microscopy.  Dr. Palchoudhury has been very active in providing undergraduate students an opportunity to help in her research i.e Synthesis of DNA Conjugated Hybrid Pt-Iron Oxide Nanoparticles for Drug Delivery Applications and Cost-Effective Synthesis of Iron Oxide Nanoparticles.  She has authored papers on these areas in refereed journals and co-authored four book chapters, along with presentations.
