Wright-Bentley Scholars 2005-2006

The Wright-Bentley Scholarship is awarded to students that have demonstrated strong academic skills and service to the community and university. Selected students have proven themselves to be highly motivated, intellectually strong and civic-minded.

Listed below are the 2005-2006 Wright-Bentley Scholars.


Taiesha Brown

B.S. Business Administration: Management
B.S. Business Administration: Marketing

Taiesha was active in the Black Student Alliance, the Wesley Student Center and the Society for the Advancement of Management. She enjoys meeting people and organizing activities. Taiesha competed in the Junior Olympics.

After graduation she plans to pursue a graduate degree in business.


Lori Ann Clark 

B.S. Business Administration: Finance
B.S. Economics

Lori Ann was vice president of Alpha Delta Pi sorority. She was also president of the Economics club and a member of the UTC’s Honors Program. Lori Ann enjoys running, dancing, baking and scrapbooking. 

After graduation Lori Ann would like to pursue a career in finance.


Cassie Cooper

B.S. Business Administration: Accounting

Cassie held leadership positions in Sigma Kappa sorority including vice president of scholarship, alumni relations and president. She enjoys swimming and reading. 

After graduation Cassie plans to enroll in law school and return to Chattanooga to practice family law.


Amber Henderson

B.S. Business Administration: Accounting

Amber was active at the Children’s Church at Temple Baptist Church. She appreciated the many opportunities to interact with UTC accounting professors. Amber enjoys water skiing, snow skiing and scrap booking.

After graduation she plans to work in public accounting and would ultimately like to teach accounting at the college level.


Zach Latham 

B.S. Business Administration: Finance 
B.S. Business Administration: Entrepreneurship

Zachary was active in Students in Free Enterprise and the Residence Hall Association. He was a Resident Assistant at UTC Place. He enjoys water sports including swimming, boating, and wakeboarding. Zachary also has an interest in autos and rebuilt two Volkswagens. 

After graduation he plans to pursue a career in real estate and would ultimately like to start his own real estate development company.


Amanda LeRoy

B.S. Business Administration: Finance

Amanda was a member of Beta Alpha Psi and Golden Key International Honor Society. She was also a Walt Disney World College Program Campus Representative. She volunteers her time with Habitat for Humanity, Soldiers’ Angels Foundation and Chattanooga Cares. 

After graduation Amanda will pursue a Master’s of Business Administration and is considering a career as a financial analyst.


James Wheeler

B.S. Business Administration: Management

James was a member of the UTC Catholic Student Center, Vice President of Students in Free Enterprise and Assistant Resident Director for UTC Housing. He was also a member of Sigma Iota Epsilon, the honor society for management students. He enjoys watching UTC basketball games and playing volleyball. James has in interest to work in the health care industry and is preparing to do so by studying both business and science. 

After graduation he plans to pursue a graduate degree in business or pharmacy.
