Wright-Bentley Scholars 2004-2005
The Wright-Bentley Scholarship is awarded to students that have demonstrated strong academic skills and service to the community and university. Selected students have proven themselves to be highly motivated, intellectually strong and civic-minded.
Listed below are the 2004-2005 Wright-Bentley Scholars.
James Alexander
B.S. Business Administration: Accounting
B.S. Business Administration: Finance
James was active in the UTC chapter of Beta Alpha Psi, the accounting and finance
honors society. He was a member of the American Foundrymen Society. James spent six
years in the National Guard and two years active duty in the Army. He enjoys reading
military books, scuba diving, learning and playing with his children.
After graduation James plans to continue working in the private sector.
Rob Bettis
B.S. Business Administration: Marketing
Rob was active in “The House” – the Presbyterian Campus Ministry at UTC. He was a
member of the American Marketing Association, Mortar Board and Golden Key honor societies.
He enjoys tennis, photography and is a huge sports fan.
After graduation Rob pursued a Master’s of Business Administration at UTC.
Ashley Buckels
B.S. Business Administration: Marketing
Ashley was a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma, Golden Key, and Alpha Mu Alpha honor
societies at UTC. She was also a member of the American Marketing Association. Ashley
is a health fanatic and likes to stay active by playing golf, tennis and exercising.
She is a volunteer with Make-A-Wish foundation.
After graduation Ashley would like to pursue a career in event planning in Chattanooga.
Lori Ann Clark
B.S. Business Administration: Finance
B.S. Economics
Lori Ann was vice president of Alpha Delta Pi sorority. She was also president of
the Economics club and a member of the UTC’s Honors Program. Lori Ann enjoys running,
dancing, baking and scrapbooking.
After graduation Lori Ann would like to pursue a career in finance.
Cassie Cooper
B.S. Business Administration: Accounting
Cassie held leadership positions in Sigma Kappa sorority including vice president
of scholarship, alumni relations and president. She enjoys swimming and reading.
After graduation Cassie plans to enroll in law school and return to Chattanooga to
practice family law.
Kayla Lowery
B.S. Business Administration: Finance
Kayla was a member of Chi Omega sorority. She loves sports and enjoys playing basketball,
golf and softball. Kayla was an intern at Merrill Lynch and also worked for the Chattanooga
Lookouts.
After graduation Kayla will finish graduate school at Middle Tennessee State University
and hopes to work in Nashville for a financial brokerage firm.
