David Caines Headshot

David Caines, CSCP

David Caines is COO of Kenco Group, a leading provider of distribution, transportation and supply chain intelligence solutions.  He is responsible for the strategic direction of the company as well as its operating and financial performance. 

Caines joined Kenco in 2002 with responsibility for the Cummins account in Memphis, TN.  Since then he has held positions of increasing responsibility within the organization.  He is currently responsible for all of Kenco’s operating contracts, which encompass over 100 facilities, 4,500 employees, and 30 million square feet of warehouse space.  Caines is a Six Sigma Black Belt and has been trained in Lean engineering.  His key initiatives include development of new solutions, direct ongoing strategic planning initiatives, assist with the installation of Kenco’s operating system, and oversee the stewardship of the company’s culture.

His education includes a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Accounting from Covenant College; and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Duke University in Durham, NC.  David is a member of CSCMP, WERC and the UT Executive Supply Chain Forum. He also serves on the boards of various educational and nonprofit institutions, including: the University of Tennessee’s Global Supply Chain Institute; Covenant College; See Rock City, Inc.; and Chattanooga Preparatory School.

David is a graduate from Savannah College of Arts and Design with a BS in Industrial Engineering.  At Southern Champion Tray, David is a structural designer that is deeply involved in the design initiative on many of the Innovation projects that come from research.  David is also one of the Co-Inventors / Designers of Guarantab.

Patrick is committed to seeing BiTA produce valuable commercial outcomes for its members through the development and publication of open-source and royalty free data standards. Patrick deeply believes that the world is a supply chain, and that data standards run civilizations. He joins the BiTA team from the trade publication American Shipper and its sister data company, ComPair Data, where he was Research Director and Senior Consultant, respectively.

Pascale is a graduate from Michigan State University with a BS in Packaging Science.  At Southern Champion Tray, Pascale leads the Design Services group which handle paperboard structural and art design for prospective and current customers.  Pascale is one of the Co-Inventors / Designers of Guarantab.

Roberta Jo Henry

Roberta Jo Henry is a native of Charleston, TN. She gratudated from Tennessee Wesleyan with a Bahcelors in Business Management, focusing on Industrial Management. Henry brings over 15 years of experience in the supply chain and logistics arena. She currently serves as the Supply Chain Manager for Wacker Charleston.

Matt Herndon

As Chief Operating Officer, Matt Herndon is responsible for the day-to-day management and operations of one of the largest trucking companies in the United States, U.S. Xpress, Inc. U.S. Xpress has 7,000 tractors, 15,500 trailers, and over 10,000 employees which produce almost $2B a year in revenue ($1.8B in 2018).

Matt has served as U.S. Xpress, Inc.’s Chief Operating Officer since November 2018. He brings 28 years of experience in the trucking industry to the Chattanooga area. Prior to joining U.S. Xpress, he served as the Chief Operating Officer for P.A.M. Transportation Services, Inc.

Matt’s expertise is extensive, covering multiple facets within truckload operations and he is a vital component to executing the company’s strategic initiatives.

Kristi Montgomery Headshot

Kristi Montgomery

Kristi is a dynamic explorer of strategic innovation that drives revolutionary change.  With 30 years of logistics and supply chain experience, she leads a dedicated team of specialists in Kenco Innovation Labs, who research, prototype, and execute creative solutions with the potential to positively transform the supply chain. As the senior innovation officer, recognizing that no single approach works for every customer, Kristi leads the combination think tank and practical working physical lab utilizing design thinking and open innovation to deliver business value for the 200+ customers that Kenco serves in North America. 

Kristi holds a BS in Organizational Management from Covenant College and is a certified Specialist in Design Thinking and Innovation as awarded by the Darden School of Business, University of Virginia. Kristi is the Co-Chairman of the International Warehouse and Logistics Association Education Committee and serves on the Board of Directors for the Warehousing Education Research Council (WERC).  She serves the industry speaking, participating as a panelist, and publishing articles promoting supply chain innovation.

Lance Stark Headshot

Dr. Lance Starks

While studying accounting at The University of Georgia, Lance Starks was a college intern in Shaw’s Internal Audit department. After graduating UGA, Lance worked in the finance and energy industries before returning to Shaw. Lance’s early career provided him experience in the accounting, tax, real estate, and corporate assets departments. Lance co-led the business and technology transformation of Shaw’s procure-to-pay (P2P) process. After the P2P transformation, Lance joined Shaw’s Corporate Sourcing department gaining experience in leadership, negotiations, and strategic sourcing. During this time, Lance earned his Master of Business Administration from Kennesaw State University. Lance has helped lead the transformation to a sourced hard surface business model using global contract manufacturing partners. Today, Lance leads the Global Sourcing Integrated Supply Chain as vice president. In 2019, Lance earned his Doctor of Business Administration from Liberty University. Lance and his wife Anna live in Tennessee with their son, Will, who is a college sophomore at The University of Tennessee Knoxville, and daughter, Lily, who is a senior in high school.
