IGTLab Projects

The Interdisciplinary Geospatial Technology Lab (IGTLab)provides UTC and the greater Chattanooga metropolitan region with the necessary leadership, expertise, and facilitation required for the successful integration of geospatial technologies into academic instruction and applied interdisciplinary research.

Since the late 1990s, UTC has provided applied geospatial research opportunities for students and faculty through close working relationships with regional organizations and a variety of labs and centers on campus. IGTLab continues this service, with an interdisciplinary approach, for UTC and the greater Chattanooga community.

  • THRIVE 2055 is a citizen-led, public-private endeavor to engage people from across the 16-county, tri-state Chattanooga region of Southeast Tennessee, Northwest Georgia and Northeast Alabama to make the most of our economic opportunities while preserving what we love about our home communities. The objective of the three-year process is to identify regional values and goals along with a consensus on strategies related to regional economic development, our region's natural treasures, regional transportation, and education and training that can be implemented for the long-term prosperity of the region.
