Have you ever thought about earning your Lifeguard, CPR, First Aid or other water-based or medical certifications?  We offer high quality safety training programs, with experienced instructors.   Medical training and water safety skills are important for everyone to know and we would love for you to join us for our American Red Cross and National Swimming Pool Foundation courses. 


Lifeguarding Courses:

Description:
American Red Cross Lifeguard candidates will learn the skills needed to prevent and respond to emergencies in a clear water aquatics facility. The course includes Lifeguarding, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, and First Aid. The certification will be valid for two years. To enroll in this course you must be at least 15 years old. Candidates must also be able to swim 300 yards continuously, retrieve a 10 pound weight from 10 feet of water, and tread water for 3 minutes.

Water Safety Instructor (WSI) Courses:

Description:
Instructor candidates will learn how to teach infant, preschool, youth, and adult swimming lessons.  Candidates will also learn how to teach community water safety.  Instructor candidates must be 16 years or older and be able to swim all six strokes in order to take this course.

Description:
The Lifeguarding Instructor (LGI) course trains instructor candidates to teach American Red Cross student-level courses, including Lifeguarding, First Aid and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuers and Health Care Providers. Candidates must be 17 years or older, and have a current American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification.

Certified Pool and Spa Operator Courses:

The Certified Pool and Spa Operator (CPO) certification provides individuals with the basic knowledge, techniques, and skills of pool and spa operations. This certification, through the National Swimming Pool Foundation, is valid for five years and is accepted across the United States. Description:
The Review course is designed to review the lifeguarding skills and core knowledge points required to recertify in lifeguarding. 2 year certification.  To participate in the review course, the individual must possess and provide proof of a current American Red Cross Lifeguarding/First aid/CPR/AED certificate or and American Red Cross
Lifeguarding/First aid/CPR/AED certification.  

Please Note: If the Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED certificate is expired by more than 30 days, participants must take the full Lifeguarding course.

CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer Courses:

Description: 
As an EMT, firefighter, athletic trainer or lifeguard, it is your duty to respond to cardiac or breathing emergencies until more advanced medical personnel can take over. From assessing needs and making decisions to providing care, this program provides the skills you need through discussion, video and hands on training based on real-life rescue scenarios. Course covers adults, children and infants and includes free online refreshers.  This is a 2 year certification.

 PARTICIPANT WAIVER 

Refund Policy

Once payment for services or programs are received, partial refunds may be given to cancellations with written notifications prior to 48 hours before the event.  There is a $50 or 50% charge (50% for services that are equal or lesser value than $100.00) for withdrawing from a trip, course or class.  Down payments or deposits for all rentals are non-refundable (example: pool parties).  Memberships are non-transferable.  Membership cancellations will only be accepted in writing.  Any unused portion of memberships are subject to a pro-rated refund, if the member follows the refund request process.  Guest passes are non-refundable once purchased on-line or in person.  Programs may be cancelled due to a minimum number of participants not being met or inclement weather.  In this case, a full refund may be issued. 

All cancellations for Campus Recreation programs/events will not be refunded if the Campus Recreation Department has not been contacted at least 48 hours prior to the program/event.  This policy includes no shows and fees paid in advance for trips, clinics, classes, and facility reservations/rentals.
