Research Interests: I am interested in the use of geographic information systems (GIS) and cartography as a way to 1) support ecological research and environmental conservation, 2) shrink the gap between scientists and citizens, and 3) inspire society to be curious of and care for the natural world around them.
I am currently working with UTC and the Cumberland Trail Conference (CTC) to construct ecological valuation models for the South Cumberland Plateau region of Tennessee. These empirically-based models will be used to map conservation priority areas that will aid the CTC in decision-making for future conservation planning, trail construction, etc.
