What jobs am I prepared for with an Integrated Studies degree?
Integrated Studies programs are not a new phenomenon. These programs exist at other colleges and universities and may be called General Studies or Interdisciplinary programs.
Integrated Studies is a versatile, customizable degree program that allows students to create a curriculum that better serves their career goals. Here are some examples of past integrations:
- A student pursuing Health Care Administration integrated Accounting, Biology, and Pre-Medicine
- A student pursuing Medical Illustration integrated Art and Biology
- A student pursuing Arts Administration integrated Music and Business
- A student pursuing Fashion Merchandising integrated Art, Theatre, and Marketing
Our students are employed in many different industries and are successful in gaining admission to graduate school. Matt Woods, a 2014 Integrated Studies graduate, was accepted to the prestigious Mayo Medical School at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Read more about Matt's acceptance here. Matt was also accepted at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and matriculated there in Fall 2015.
It is important to note that an Integrated Studies degree does NOT provide any licensure or certification. For example, if you want to teach, an Integrated Studies degree will not provide you with a teaching license. To be a licensed teacher, you would need to complete a degree from the School of Education.
