About WUTC
WUTC is located in Southeast Tennessee in the state's fourth largest city. Often referred to as "the scenic city", Chattanooga has received national recognition for the renaissance of its beautiful downtown and redevelopment of its riverfront along the Tennessee River. As the famous site of three major civil war battles, Chattanooga is a growing metro area of over 400,000 people. Located equally between Knoxville, Birmingham, Nashville, and Atlanta, it is a commerce center. Among its outstanding offerings are its Tennessee Aquarium, Lookout Mountain, the famous Chattanooga Choo Choo, Rock City, and the mountain climbing Incline Railroad.  Tourists visit the area to enjoy events like the Riverbend Festival, Bessie Smith Strut, Fall Color Cruise, and the Creative Discovery Museum for children.

WUTC's studios are located on the  University of Tennessee at Chattanooga campus in Cadek Hall. The transmitter operates from atop Signal Mountain. The radio station operates 24 hours a day, reaching from Knoxville, Tennessee to Murphy, North Carolina to Gadsden, Alabama. It is an affiliate of National Public Radio (NPR), Public Radio International (PRI), and American Public Media (APM).

Besides the informational offerings of NPR, PRI, and APM, WUTC also offers up a unique mix of music that is selected from singer/song-writers, jazz, blues, and adult alternative musical formats.

WUTC is the area's source for Morning Edition, Day to Day, and All Things Considered. A Prairie Home Companion and Car Talk can also be heard. Other public radio favorites like Wait, Wait Don't Tell Me, This American Life, Whad'Ya Know, Marian McPartland's Piano Jazz and Jazz With Bob Parlocha are offered.

WUTC is a product of the generosity of its listeners. Each year, both individual and corporate gifts allow the radio station to continue to keep broadcasting quality programming. A favorite way to contribute to WUTC is as a DJ for an Hour.

These patrons make a gift to the radio station and share their favorite music with our listening audience.

WUTC is composed of a special mix of news, information, and music. It is a service of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and can be heard throughout the southeast at FM 88.1 and beyond at WUTC.org.
