Become a Women's Center Volunteer

There are many great opportunities available if you volunteer with the Women's Center. We have programs and events addressing everything from violence prevention to women's leadership. Please fill out the form linked above and we will help you find your place in the Women's Center.

Women's Action Council

The Women's Action Council is the student group partnered with the Women's Center. The two organizations work closely together to advocate for women on the UTC campus and the Chattanooga community. Each year, the Women's Action Council organizes the celebration of Feminist Appreciation Day and stages the Vagina Monologues.


The Women's Action Council meets every other Tuesday at 8pm in the Women's Center (see below for dates). For more information on Women's Action Council join their facebook group, Women's Action Council (UTC).

What is UTC StepUp?

StepUp! is a bystander intervention training for student groups and individuals designed to educate participants about:

  • The 5 Decision Making Steps
  • Factors that Affect Helping
  • Strategies for Effective Helping
  • The Safe; Early; Effective (SEE) Model of Intervention
  • Warning Signs, Action Steps, and Resources

Who can participate in UTC StepUp?

All students groups and individuals are encouraged to participate in the UTC StepUP! training. This training is part of a campus initiative

 to encourage a culture of care and empower everyone with the skills to intervene when a situation arises when we can help each other.
