UTC Music Offers Something for Everyone

Friday, April 11 UTC Opera Theater and Chattanooga State, The Mikado, 7 p.m., Bond Auditorium, CSTCC

Friday, April 11 Senior Recital, Adam Puryear, voice and organ, 7:30 p.m., 1st Centenary Church

Friday, April 11 UTC Tuba-Euphonium Ensemble, 8:30 p.m., Hayes Concert Hall, UTC Fine Arts Center. The ensemble is directed by Dr. William R. Lee. The program will include works played on the Paris, France, tour of the ensemble, plus other works by students and Lee. The program will feature solos by two UTC euphonium students who played in a master class at the Paris Conservatory. The concert is free and the public is invited.

Sunday, April 13 Cadek Community Orchestra, 3 p.m., Hayes Concert Hall

Monday, April 14 UTC Percussion Ensemble, 8 p.m., Hayes Concert Hall. The program will include Michael Burritt's "Doomsday Machine", inspired by the Star Trek episode of the same name. Also Ford's "Afta Stuba" which is a marimba trio with elements of theater. Four other pieces for drums and mallet instruments round out the program. The Bradley Central High School Percussion Ensemble, directed by UTC student Matt Broom and UTC Graduate Jason Harvey, will make a short guest appearance, followed by the UTC group. The concert is free and the public is invited.

Tuesday, April 15 UTC Symphonic Band, 7 p.m., Hayes Concert Hall, UTC Fine Arts Center. A special guest appearance will be made by UTC professor and pianist Dr. Sin-Hsing Tsai, who will perform Rhapsody in Blue.

The Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe High School Concert Band will also perform, under the direction of Rich Stichler. The public is welcome, there is no admission charge.

Wednesday, April 16 Senior recital, Tonya Shaneyfelt, 5 p.m., Hayes Concert Hall

Monday, April 21 UTC Chamber Singers, 7 p.m., Hayes Concert Hall

Tuesday April 22 UTC Symphony Orchestra, 8 p.m., Hayes Concert Hall
