Entrepreneurship and Technology Opportunity

If you are looking for the most current training available for entrepreneurship, marketing, and new venture creation to combine with your idea for a new business or you are looking for a way to upgrade your skills for a career change, consider attending the Entrepreneurship & Technology Certificate Program. Classes will be held on Mondays and Thursdays, 5:30-8:00 p.m., April 5th-May 3rd in the UTC Engineering, Mathematics, and Computer Science Building.

Professors from the UTC College of Business Administration will offer this fast-track, non-credit program with a variety of topics, including:

  • How do entrepreneurs really achieve success?
  • Forming your new business venture—should you incorporate?
  • Creating a business plan to obtain financing
  • Doing your homework—conducting industry and competitive analysis
  • How are marketing plans for technology ventures developed?
  • Legal issues every small business owner should know
  • Crunching the numbers—the critical financial issues entrepreneurs must master

The program is a joint effort initiated by the Riverbend Technology Institute, the UTC College of Business Administration, Tech2020, and the Center for Entrepreneurial Growth (CEG) in collaboration with:

  • Oak Ridge National Laboratory—managed by UT-Battelle for the Department of Energy
  • New Economy Institute
  • The Enterprise Center
