Student art exhibition

The annual Newspapers in Education Chattanooga Times News Press Juried Student Exhibition will be presented Friday, May 11-Friday, May 25 in the UTC Cress Gallery of Art in the Fine Arts Center, located at Vine and Palmetto Streets. A public reception to honor these young artists will be held Friday, May 11, from 5:30 p.m. - 7 p.m.

This exhibition is selected by representatives from the exhibit sponsors: Allied Arts of Greater Chattanooga, the Association of Visual Art, and Art Creations, Inc., as well as CTNP arts writer, Ann Nichols. While every work submitted is displayed in the Cress, the top ten chosen from each grade group from Kindergarten through 12th grade will be hung, as well as three works chosen for Awards of Excellence and one work selected as Best of Show.

“This is an exciting exhibition for the Cress as an opportunity to engage the community in a unique and special way,” said Ruth Grover, UTC Curator. “The work created by the area's finest young artists never fails to delight and even amaze Cress visitors.”

Gallery hours for this exhibit are 9:30am - 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. For more information contact ruth-grover@utc.edu.
