Strategic planning process begins
The entire campus has been invited to participate in the strategic planning process announced recently by Chancellor Roger Brown.
Co-Chairs Dr. Karen Adsit, Professor of Education and Director of the Grayson Walker Teaching Resource Center, and Dr. Charles Nelson, Professor of Biological and Environmental Sciences and Acting Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, presented a timeline, detailed description of the strategic planning process, and opportunities for campus participation. “This planning process depends on complete participation by each and every one of you,” Brown said. “Many of you and your colleagues are being asked to serve on a variety of task forces that will be collecting input and formulating a series of strategic directions for our campus. Throughout the planning process, we will hold open meetings to discuss specific areas of the plan, and a website will be established to share information with the campus and to receive your comments.”
The strategic planning process will evolve as the campus and community comes together over several months to examine the governing ideas, the environmental factors, and the areas of distinction that will provide the framework for UTC's progress. An outside planning consultant will guide the process.February 16, 2007
