Spring performances offered by student musicians

Under the direction of Dr. Stuart Benkert, the UTC Symphonic Band will perform on Friday, April 13 at 8 p.m. in the Roland Hayes Concert Hall of the UTC Fine Arts Center.

Under the direction of Floy Wang, the premier performance of the UTC Viola Ensemble will be held Sunday, April 15 at 7:30 p.m. in Cadek Conservatory's Concert Hall. This event is free and open to the public. The violists are Melody Dale, Sarah Doyle, Tammy Fisher, Meredith Jagger, Alex Liner, Nichole Pitts. The UTC Viola Ensemble was formed in January 2007. Selections will include works by Teleman, Vivaldi, Pachelbel, Shostokovich, and even, "Take Me Out to the Ballgame: A bench brawling piece for four violas."

The UTC Percussion Ensemble, directed by Dr. Monte Coulter, will present "Catch the Groove!" on Monday, April 16, at 7:30 p.m, at Roland Hayes Concert Hall in the UTC Fine Arts Center. This concert will feature some of the best new percussion ensemble pieces, as well as older standard works. The program is free and the public is invited.

The UTC Men's and Women's Chorus will perform Tuesday, April 17, 7:30 p.m. at the Roland Hayes Concert Hall in the UTC Fine Arts Center. Dr. Roland Carter is Director of the Men's Chorus; Dr. Lee Harris is director of the Women's Chorus. This event is free and open to the public.
