Printmaking in the South—2006 Print Dialogue Day
An annual event filled with conversations and demonstrations has come to Tennessee for the first time since it began in 1997: The American Print Alliance 2006 Print Dialogue Day will be held Saturday, October 14, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at the UTC Art Department, UTC Fine Arts Center, at the corner of Vine and Palmetto Streets. The theme for this year’s conference is “Printmaking in the South.” The conference will bring together artists and printmakers from Georgia and Tennessee, and they will provide demonstrations on making artist’s book structure, chine colle, gum Arabic transfers in the relief and monotype process and silkscreen.
Coffee, bagels and pastries will be available for those arriving early. Admission is free, with a suggested donation of $10; $5 for students. For further information, email Stephen LeWinter or call (423)425-4689.
