Percussion Ensemble Performance
The UTC Percussion Ensemble will present "Catch the Groove" on Monday, April 10, at 7:30 p.m. in the Roland Hayes Concert Hall, Fine Arts Center. The concert is free and the public is invited.
The UTC Percussion Ensemble has earned a reputation as a premier percussion group in the Southeast, performing works from the percussion literature on standard instruments, as well as the more exotic iron pipes and saws.
"Catch the Groove" will feature Michael Burritt's "Doomsday Machine," inspired by the "Star Trek" episode of the same name, and the premier of a transcription of the "Agnus Dei" by Samuel Barber for six marimbists. UTC Senior Matt Broom will conduct the percussion ballet, "Uhuru."
