Former NFL player to speak on men’s role in stopping sexual violence
On Monday, September 25 at 3 p.m., former NFL football player Don McPherson will speak in the UC Auditorium on men's responsibility in stopping sexual violence.
In every community and on every campus, there are “warriors and angels,” those who work tirelessly to prevent substance abuse and violence while supporting victims and their families. Presentations are designed to support ongoing, local work, stimulate new ideas and offer new approaches.
Historically, violence against women has been considered a “women’s issue.” And, while the vast majority of men are not abusive, they are also not a part of the discussion of prevention. Each presentation is designed to be inclusive, enlisting men from athletics, fraternities and community leadership, to become a proactive part of the solution.
