Master Chorale concert
UTC Master Chorale presents its Third Annual Concert on July 14th at 7:30 p.m. at Second Presbyterian Church at the corner of 7th street and Pine St. The concert is conducted by Dr. J. Kevin Ford and assistant conductor Melody Horne and accompanied by David Friberg.
Soloist Kristin Wilson and singers from UTC and the Chattanooga community will also be featured. Works by John Blow, Johannes Brahms, Charles Ives, G.B. Martini, W. A. Mozart, and R. Vaughn Williams among others will be included. The concert is free to the public.
“The music spans from the early baroque in Britten to modern Scandinavian pieces and a very odd piece by early 20th century American composer Charles Ives,” Ford said. “Ives' Psalm 67 has the women in one key (C major) and the men in a completely different key (G minor). We are performing a short piece written by W. A. Mozart in honor of his anniversary year.”
