UTC SGA extends deadline for student monument designs
Student Government Association has extended the deadline for the "Student Monument Design contest" to February 3rd, 2006. Please take this opportunity to submit a monument design for consideration to the student development, top floor of the University Center, or e-mail any questions.
UTC students are invited to submit designs for a student monument to be located in the new green space opposite the University Center, between the UC and the old football field. The UTC Student Government Association is sponsoring the Student Monument Design Contest.
Entry requirements include a descriptive blueprint or design concept which can be presented on standard sized poster-board. Entries should also include a one-page description of how the design encompasses UTC’s spirit, pride, and identity and how it will withstand outdoor use. The winner of the competition will not be responsible for fabricating the finished product, but must be available to help throughout the design process. This includes refinement of the design and responses to questions related to fabrication.
All submissions are due no later than Friday, February 3rd.
The winner of the Student Monument Design Contest will receive a $500 cash prize, a plaque, and recognition on the monument itself. Fabrication costs, weather resistance, and appropriateness will all be factors in determining a winning design. The student body will judge and decide the winning design.
