John and Diane Marek Visiting Artists Lecture and Events
The Cress Gallery of Art and the Department of Art announce the next John and Diane Marek Visiting Artists Lecture and Events. Painter, photographer, gallerist, and writer Roger Ricco and gallerist Sara Tecchia, both currently living and working in New York City, will be on campus and in the community November 6 - 9, in association with an exhibition of Ricco's photographs in the Cress Gallery.
On Tuesday, November 7, at 5:30 p.m., Ricco will lecture about the relationship of his painting to his photographs in Room 356, UTC Fine Arts Center. His lecture will be followed by a public reception until 7:30 p.m.--both Ricco and Tecchia will be present.
On Wednesday November 8, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. in the UTC Department of Art, Ricco and Tecchia will participate in a "professionalism seminar" during which both will talk and answer questions about their life and their work. This event is open to all students. Interested community members should call or email Ruth Grover for more information.
Ricco's exhibition of color photographs "Small Events" will be in the Cress Gallery through December 1. This exhibition is proudly sponsored in part by the Friends of the Gallery.

The Cress Gallery of Art is open Monday and Friday from 9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m., Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9:30 a.m. – 7 p.m. The Cress Gallery of Art and visiting artist's lecture and events are located in the Fine Arts Center at the corner of Vine and Palmetto Streets. Visitors to campus may obtain a parking pass by visiting the Facilities Building on Palmetto Street. Parking is free in any UTC lot after 5 p.m.
