Chancellor’s Challenge

More than 600 faculty, staff and students involved in the Chancellor’s Challenge are encouraged to participate in the Southeast Tennessee Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk ’06.

According to Dr. Greg Heath, head of the Department of Health and Human Performance, the first Chancellor's Challenge is a team event designed by the Department of Health and Human Performance to encourage UTC students, faculty and staff to develop health lifestyles. A cash award and special prize will be awarded to one student and one faculty or staff member for participation.

Teams will earn points for all physical activity and bonus points for participating in special events and activities hosted by the Chancellor's Challenge and other organizations promoting healthy living.

All participants in the Challenge meeting minimum point requirements are eligible for multiple incentives and awards, inclusive of a $500 cash award from Chancellor Brown and a 32 inch television from the Department of Health and Human Performance for one lucky faculty or staff member and one lucky student. Participants taking part in any of the Bonus Activities listed on the Chancellor’s Challenge web page increase their chances of winning one of these wonderful celebration awards.
