Forum on Academic Freedom on November 2
A Forum on Academic Freedom will be held at 12:15 p.m. on Thursday, November 2, Signal Mountain Room, UTC University Center.
“Academic Freedom in the Courts” will be presented by Dr. John Friedl, Department of Political Science, Public Administration and Nonprofit Management; “Academic Freedom at UTC: Pushing the Limits” will be presented by Dr. Joanie Sompayrac, University of Chattanooga Foundation Associate Professor of Accounting and Business Law and Assistant Director, University Honors Program; and “Did John T. Scopes have the right to teach evolution to public high school students in Rhea County, Tennessee?” will be presented by Dr. Larry Ingle, formerly, Professor, Department of History, UTC; currently retired.
