NPR Music 88 celebrates record breaking campaign
WUTC-NPR Music 88, the 30,000-watt non-commercial station affiliated with National Public Radio (NPR), Public Radio International (PRI) and licensed to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, recentlyconcluded its most successful spring on-air membership campaign with approximately $130,000 pledged.
Listeners financial support is greatly appreciated, and the station offered thanks with premiums including CDs, t-shirts and coffee mugs.
“Quality programming attracts support from an informed, diverse audience,” said UTC spokesperson Chuck Cantrell. “The University enjoys playing an integral role in the delivery of this valuable service to the Chattanooga area.”
NPR Music 88 is the regional source for NPR and PRI programs such as Morning Edition, All Things Considered, and Fresh Air, as well as Day To Day, On The Media, Living On Earth, Mountain Stage, This American Life, The Grateful Dead Hour and Car Talk.
On the weekends, in addition to the NPR/PRI shows, NPR Music 88 also has a number of locally produced shows that focus on one style of music in depth. Celtic Harvest, Louisiana House Party, Saturday and Sunday Sunrise programs, and Moontime Radio Show hosted by Cleveland Carlson.
