Seminars at UTC to focus on international trade
Learn the essentials of importing and exporting, the legal aspects of foreign trade, and trade financing by attending three seminars in international trade to be hosted by The University of Tennessee Chattanooga's College of Business Administration, the International Trade Center of Tennessee (Knoxville) and the U.S. Department of Commerce (Knoxville). The seminars will be held in Fletcher Hall on the UTC campus from 1:30-4:30 p.m., January 27, February 24, and March 31.
“Anybody who is in international business or considering international trade sometime down the road should attend,” said Dr. Bento Lobo, of the Department of Accounting and Finance. “This is a chance for Chattanooga businesses to explore the global environment.”
Speakers will be practicing professionals with vast experience in the field of trade. Seminar topics include international shipping and logistics, foreign trade zones, working with agents and distributors, U.S. and foreign government regulations, letters of credit, foreign exchange, and government loan programs.
“With every passing day it becomes more imperative to be aware of the global environment, and more possible to achieve success in international trade,” Lobo said.
Seminars are open to the community and may be taken individually or as a package. UTC alumni are entitled to a cost savings. Register online.
