Progress continues on campus projects

The University Greenway will soon become a reality as a pedestrian walk spans from MLK Boulevard to East Third Street. The route passes along the SimCenter and Brown Academy, and between Lockmiller I and II apartment complexes. It continues by the west side of the Fine Arts and Engineering, Math, and Computer Science Buildings, between the Challenger Center and lot 36. The Department of Transportation grant project additionally installs raised crosswalks on Oak, Vine, and East Fifth Streets. The work should be completed by the end of summer.

Besides the Greenway project, work crews have continued to improve Hooper Hall. For those who have concerns about the effects of renovation on the Shakespeare Garden, Janet Spraker, Director of Engineering Services, says the garden will be restored when work is complete.

Work will also be complete soon in Cadek Recital Hall, where new life is being breathed into seating and lighting.

The Campus Greenway winds through Lockmiller complexes…

… and across Oak Street.

Resilient Shakespeare Garden roses were unharmed…

…as Hooper Hall was repaired.
