The event will be held from 12 noon to 1:15 p.m. in the Signal Mountain Room of the UTC University Center.
The panel discussion will be free to the public.
Dr. David Carrithers, Adolph Ochs Professor of Government; Russell Fowler, attorney and Adjunct Professor of Political Science; Zac Greene, attorney and UTC alumnus; and Thomas L. Greenholtz, attorney and an adjunct Professor of Political Science will participate.
The UTC Pre-law Club and the Department of Political Science, Public Administration, and Non-Profit Management are sponsoring the event.
Constitution Day honors the signing of the Constitution on September 17, 1787. Through the actions of Senator Robert C. Byrd, legislation passed recently requiring all schools that accept federal funding to “hold an educational program on the United States Constitution on September 17 of such year for the students served by the educational institution.” September 17 is the actual date of Constitution Day, however if the date falls on a Saturday, Sunday or holiday, the event could take place the preceding or following week. For more information, please call (423)425-4281.
