Concerts scheduled at UTC
On Tuesday night, November 29 beginning at 7:30 p.m., the UTC Women’s Chorale, Men’s Chorus and the Chattanooga Singers will present a free concert in the Roland Hayes Concert Hall in the Fine arts Center on the UTC Campus.
The Women’s Chorale, under the direction of Dr. Lee Harris and accompanist Amy Gugliotta will perform holiday selections including the Magnificat by UTC faculty composer Dr. Jonathan McNair.
The Men’s Chorus, under the direction of Professor Roland Carter will perform works from Russia, Nigeria, and the United States.
Dr. Kevin Ford and accompanist Ashley Cisto will lead the Chattanooga Singers in a concert including music from Norway, Hungary, Italy, England and the United States. Graduate conducting students Steven Phillips and Melody Horne will also conduct the Chattanooga Singers. This event is free and open to the public.On Friday night, December 2 at 7:30 p.m. the UTC Chamber Singers will present their free winter concert in the Roland Hayes Concert Hall in the Fine Arts Center on the UTC Campus. The Chamber Singers are directed by Dr. Kevin Ford and accompanied by graduate piano major Lydie Morneau. The concert will feature a wide variety of music from not only the United States but also the Philippines, Lithuania, Norway and South Africa. A set of music from the Orthodox tradition will be performed and will feature Russian and Byzantine examples. Senior vocal music education major Ashley Nolan Cisto will conduct a Moravian piece from what became the Baltic area of Russia.
