Challenger Center Open House
Have you ever wanted to be an astronaut? For almost 10 years, the UTC Challenger Center has brought that experience to more than 85,000 elementary and middle school students in our region.
On Monday, November 7, 1-6 p.m., the Challenger Center opens its shuttle air locks to adults for an open house that will include mini-trips on the Center’s space shuttle and visits to the orbiting space station and Mission Control. Come fulfill your fantasy of space exploration.
The Challenger Center carries on the educational mission of the shuttle crew by incorporating math, science, and technology education into space exploration simulations. Since opening in Chattanooga, the center has served students from Chattanooga, Nashville, Knoxville, Memphis, and Atlanta and from as far away as Colorado, Florida, and Kentucky. Educators from Russia and Japan have also studied at the UTC Challenger Center.
In addition to math, science, and technology education, the center conducts team-building space missions for businesses and other organizations. For more information on the UTC Challenger Center, call (423)425-4126.
