Stacy Discusses UTC Graduation Rates

In a recent luncheon with representatives of local media outlets, Chancellor Bill Stacy revealed that UTC ranks third in Tennessee in graduation rates for all students, and first in graduation rates for African American students in Tennessee.

Stacy says 16% of all UTC undergraduates are minority students, and they been awarded $5.5 million in scholarships, meaning over 68% of the minority students on campus receive financial aid.

Several faculty accomplishments were noted by Stacy, including UC Foundation Professor Gene Ezell's textbook titled Teaching Today's Health, now in its 6th edition, which is the nation's most widely used text book for the discipline. Stacy also commented on Rich Becherer, Harris Chair of Entrepreneurship, being named Entrepreneurship Professor of the Year 2000 by the Price Foundation.
