Chattanooga Singers Headed for Washington D.C.

On January 31 and February 1, The Chattanooga Singers of UTC will perform at the 2001 National Prayer Breakfast at the Hilton Washington in Washington D.C. Representatives from 160 countries will be attending the breakfast.

The Chattanooga Singers were invited by Third District Congressman Zach Wamp to make the appearance. They will also perform, along with country star Randy Travis, at the Family Dinner, part of the inaugural festivities.

"I am so proud of these students. We are very excited about this opportunity," according to Glenn Draper.

Draper says on the way to Washington, the Chattanooga Singers will make a concert stop in Harrisonburg, Virginia.

Chancellor Bill Stacy complimented the group. "Congratulations upon the invitation to participate in the National Prayer Breakfast. Thank you for the recognition this brings to the university, and best wishes to you," Stacy says.
