Seasonal music offered at UTC

The UTC Chamber Singers and Flute Choir will present a concert of seasonal music on Sunday, Dec. 3 at 3 p.m. in the Roland Hayes Concert Hall, UTC Fine Arts Center.

The Chambers Singers, under the direction of Roland Carter, will perform "Laud to the Nativity," a cantata by Ottorino Respighi. Carey Brooks will sing the role of the Angel and Sopranos Kristen Taylor, Jenifer Fenimore-Powell, and Zephanie Flippin will share the role of Mary.

Faculty member Dr. Lee Harris, tenor, will sing the role of the Shepherd. The Singers will be accompanied by UTC faculty member, Dr. Walker Breland.

Following the Respighi, the UTC Flute Choir will the perform under the direction of graduate student Michael Whittenburg. The concert will conclude with excerpts from William Grant Still's "Christmas in the Western World," a cycle of carols from Argentina, Canada, Trinidad, Puerto Rico and the United States.

These carols will be directed by student conductors Rebecca Brown, Rebecca Campbell, Jennifer Fenimore-Cooper, Emily Leach, and Katherine Roddy. The public is invited. There will be no admission charge.
