UTC's Department of Human Ecology and the student chapter of ASID will sponsor a Restoration/Renovation design conference at the Bluff View Arts District Saturday, April 18. Cost is $30 ($20 for students), and includes the opening cocktail reception on Friday, April 17, a continental breakfast, and the conference. Guest speakers include:

Eric Lloyd Wright, Eric Lloyd Wright Architects and Planners in Malibu. Wright will discuss restoration of the Auldbrass Plantation in Yamassee, S.C., a Frank Lloyd Wright house.

Rodney M. Cook, Jr., Trustee of the Prince of Wales' Foundation for Architecture, and principal with Polites Cook & Associates, Design Architects, of Atlanta. Cook, designer of the Newington Cropsey Gallery of Art which was noted by the New York Times as "proof of the flourishing classical revival," will discuss use of historical design elements and materials in classical design.

Michael Emrick, architect and consultant for the Tennessee Historical Commission, Nashville, will discuss issues in historic preservation and renovation.

Bruz Clark, vice president of Lyndhurst Foundation, Chattanooga, will discuss the renovation of the foundation's offices, a late 19th Century Second Empire house.
