Mac Smotherman has been teaching theater for many years.   He received his MFA from Trinity University at The Dallas Theater Center, a professional regional theater.   At DTC he studied directing with Paul Baker and acting with Mary Sue Jones.  He is a certified actor/combatant with the Society of American Fight Directors.  He participated in a directing colloquium with Arvin Brown, Douglas Turner Ward, Robert Benedetti and William Gillette at the University of Illinois.   He has studied acting at the Neighborhood Playhouse in NYC with Richard Pinter.  He completed a course for teaching the Meisner Technique with Larry Silverberg at Willamette University in Salem, Oregon.  He has substantial training in Alexander Technique.
