Internship Information

 

The UTC STEM Education program via the NSF NOYCE grant has developed an internship program that will provide STEM Education students with many opportunities to apply their knowledge on and off UTC’s campus. The successful applicant will be in pursuit of a STEM Education degree. It is imperative that you review the internship descriptions prior to submitting your application as each has specific requirements.  Internship terms are for Fall and Spring, 15- 20 hours per week (maximum of 200 hours per semester) and Summer, 40 hours per week (maximum of 400 hours).

Eligibility for Noyce Internships

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must be a full time STEM Education student
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a legal permanent resident
  • Must have submitted fingerprints and passed background check
  • Have a primary major in a STEM discipline
  • Have a minimum overall, UTSM and content major GPA of at least 2.5
  • Have made progress towards content area coursework

The applicant must submit a complete STEM Research Internship Program Application Packet including:

  • Application
  • Resume
  • Transcript (Unofficial) 
  • Reference Letter from UTC Faculty or STEM Teacher
  • Essay

Please send application, letter of interest, recommendation letter and resume to: stemed@utc.edu by August 19, 2016 for Fall 2016 positions, November 18, 2016 for Spring 2017 positions, and April 14, 2017 for Summer 2017 positions.
