I wanted to take a moment and welcome you to the STEM Education program’s website. Established in 2010,UTC’s STEM Education program is committed to improving K-12 math and science education in both the Chattanooga area and throughout Tennessee. The STEM Education program is designed to provide each student with the skills, tools, and hands-on experience necessary to excel in the modern classroom. Through the STEM Education program, students will have the ability to fully explore the educational opportunities available through any of the STEM disciplines (Math, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, and Geology) while earning a license to teach in secondary education within their chosen field. Essentially, in the same four years it takes to earn just a Bachelors of Science in any of these fields, STEM Education Students are able to earn two degrees at no extra financial cost or time.
In addition, through the STEM Education program students also have the ability to explore diverse career opportunities through numerous local and national paid internships as well as the ability to work closely with academic professionals through summer research. The STEM Education program also offers six (6) annual scholarship opportunities through the Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship for Junior and Senior students who are committed to teaching STEM subjects.
We invite you to explore our website to learn more about the STEM Education program and see if STEM Education is the right choice for you.
