Lee Harris is the acting Coordinator of Music Education. He joined the UTC faculty in 1995, initially serving as Music Director for the Southeast Center for Education in the Arts. Prior to this appointment, he taught choral and general music in Arkansas, Tennessee and Texas. In 1994, he was recognized as the Outstanding Elementary Teacher for the Lewisville (Texas) Independent School District.
He holds a Master Class certificate in Orff Schulwerk and Kodaly certification. In 2000, he established the Kodaly Institute at UTC, a program endorsed by the Organization of American Kodaly Educators in 2005. He currently serves as Director of the Kodaly Institute, a summer professional development course for music teachers from across the United States and Canada.
