Anthropology, B.A. Requirements

The Anthropology degree requires 33-34 hours of coursework including:

  • ANTH 3100 - Ethnographic Methods
  • ANTH 3210-  Anthropological Theory 
  • ANTH 4140 - Research Seminar
  • 6 hours of Anthropology at the 2000 level
  • 6 hours of Anthropology at the 3000 level

Select 3 courses from:

  • ANTH 1100 - Biological Anthropology
  • ANTH 1200 - Cultural Anthropology
  • ANTH 1300 - Language, Culture and Society
  • ANTH 1400 - Archaeology

One field or laboratory course from:

  • ANTH 3130 - Media and Communication Laboratory
  • ANTH 3350 - Archaeological Field Methods

 

Students must also take 2 years of a foreign language and declare a minor with a 2.0 GPA. Majors must also earn a minimum of a C or better in all sociology and anthropology courses required for the major (including specified General Education Courses).
